On March 30th, 2014, Bonnie Gean invited me to join the community Video Blogging Challenge at Google+ and so I created this video 1 for the everyday challenge.
So here’s my Video Blogging Challenge 1. They started March 3rd and it will be over on April 11th. She said that I should have at least 11 videos by that time. There should be 30-videos but since I started kinda late, I won’t be able to do 30 of them. But I will be happy to do 11, see if I can.
NOTE: I’m sorry that I am still having problem on streaming my videos here direct. I used to just cut and paste the YouTube URL on my post and it will automatically stream for me. Now, if I do that it won’t do it but it’ll just leave me the URL address without the link. Not cool.
This video is very spontaneous. I really didn’t know what to say on this video. I just said whatever pops in my head. Actually, I just wanted to say hello to Bonnie and to all the members in the community. Just to see and try. Just to push myself in doing it.
Perhaps this will do me good in the long run and it will really help my business.
She said this will give a “personal touch” on my blog and to all my followers. They can see something real and a face behind the blogging. I know I’ve said on my video that I’m very critical about myself specially when I’m talking in front of the camera. I normally don’t like people taking my photos or taking a snap shot of me because I always look stupid. Some people just don’t know how to take the right angle.
Everyone has the right angle, right? Your best side.
And so if I have the right lighting, I can manipulate on how I want to look on my video. I know some people said that we are the most critical of ourselves. Not too many people like their pictures or videos.
Anyway, Bonnie gave me tips on how to have a better lighting on your video.
Join the Video Blogging Challenge
Although they started on March 3rd, you can still join us and take the challenge if you like. Do the best that you can. This is only if you like to do it. I know that not everyone would like to do this. Videos are not for everyone. You can be successful in your blogging without doing the videos. But you know I heard that Google loves YouTube and that they rank your YouTube on SERP faster than your website.
I will probably try to do 1-video a day on My YouTube Channel.
You know my friend, Jan Kearney, is also a member of this community and she has done a beautiful post on her blog. She posted a blog and at the same time she did a video of it as well. Take a look at her post here: Video Blogging Challenge Day 12. You know I have some friends here who are blind and they would rather hear the audio instead of reading my blog. So this is perfect example. I am going to do this in the future!
Blogging Challenge Ideas
• Repurpose your posts. Like what Jan Kearney did to her blog, you can repurpose or recycle your posts into videos. You can write it on your blog. And at the same time you can create a video of it. This is perfect for those who cannot read your blog (like blind people) and instead they can hear what you are saying.
• Your guest post. On Bonnie Gean’s post Recycle Should Be Your Middle Name she said that she is a big fan of recycle. You can turn some of your posts into videos. Extend your post into another form, like YouTube. Bonnie shared on her post that she had guest posted on Debra Jason’s blog, and Debra turned Bonnie’s guest post into a video. You can read it here: Seven Reasons Why People Fear Video Marketing.
30 Video Blogging Challenge
If you didn’t have enough time to join now, make sure next time Bonnie Gean starts the 30 Video Blogging Challenge, join us HERE. I am sure you will never regret it because Bonnie is the “Queen of YouTube”. She does it professionally. You will not only benefit by it but also it will help your business.
Your fans and followers will love you for it.
Well, I know I just started doing this and I cannot say that my fans and followers love me for it, yet. But Bonnie said to me that your video will be your special touch from the personal level. And from her experience being the “Queen of YouTube” (ahuh…I’ve given her a new name) you will not regret it.
So what do you think about my very 1st video of me talking in front of the camera? Do you want to join us for the Blog a Day Challenge at Google Plus? It’s not too late to join even if you can only create less than 30-videos on this challenge, Bonnie is still accepting members and those who wants to participate!
