Business Women Entrepreneurs
Are you in the area of Fresno, CA or maybe in San Joaquin Valley area? If you are, let’s meet up @ Pardini’s Restaurant. I will be there on August 21st @ 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Call me: (559) 492-6876.
Sherill Calhoun, Manager Director of eWomen Network, scheduled a couple of guest speakers to speak to us. This will help us increase our network relationship with others who are business like-minded like you and me. And so if you are passing by Fresno or live in San Joaquin Valley, why not join us!
I am pretty new at Meet•Up here in the Central Valley California. I have found them through Elance. I do have an account through Elance and haven’t used it yet. At first, I thought I would want to start bidding on the jobs, but that course has changed when I read Rob Cubbon’s post about crowdsourcing. I reiterate, he said, it’s good to hire someone there but not to work for them.
So I digress…and let me come back talking about eWomen Network…
eWomen Network have this type of meeting (at least) once a month. Sherill schedules “guest speakers” and it cost about $45 to get in if you’re not a member. For members, it costs $35. It includes dinner, guest speakers, and mingling with other women business entrepreneurs like yourself. So guess this is the best way to meet people and increase your network relationship.
eWomen Network Google+ Hangout
Just a while ago, eWomen Network members tried to hangout in Google+. It costs me $5 to get into that hangout. Little did I knew, they have never done this before. And so they had some technical problems. I couldn’t get in. And so I left a message on their website and said, “Never again…” Then, one said, Sherill Calhoun is a very nice lady and she does a good job on maintaining this organization.
In that sense, I said, I should try again later. Then one member there named Julie said the same thing to me, she said she couldn’t connect through the Google+ hangout. And so we started talking. I added her in Google+ and said hello in private message. Her last name is Novielli. I thought, hmmm…Novielli sounds familiar.
I wonder if Julie Novielli is related to Tony Novielli, my husband’s best friend in high school. I talked to my husband and asked him if Julie Novielli rings a bell. And he said, that’s the wife of Frank Novielli, Tony’s brother.
I said, “Oh yes!!!” I have only met her once or twice. But the first time I met her, she created an impression in my mind that she is this woman who is always smiling. I felt comfortable with her. She is like this woman who is everyone’s best friend. As if I knew her for a long time.
I gave Julie my phone number and we hooked up. I said, “What a small world.” I never thought she would be in one of these meet ups in the valley. I knew she is a Nurse and have a great job in the community hospital. But why would she be in this type of event? She said that she’s promoting her wellness company and that’s how it started.
I said, “I want to hear about your company.”
And she said, “Sure. And perhaps I need a website too for my company.”
So there goes. We got connected. Not a new connection. But re-connection of some sort. I have never really took the time to get to know what she’s up to. Coz at the time, I wasn’t promoting my business. I was still in some limbo…going trying to finish the prerequisites in Nursing. So glad that we finally connected. Again. Very awesome!
…and so don’t forget this logo. If you are a business woman in San Joaquin Valley and you want to promote your business, come and join us and have fun. I think it’s fun to have that new connection. Share each other’s journey. Make friends. Share your business. Connect. Trust your instinct. And you’re on the way building that success you always dream of.
