After I posted “Promote Yourself” I have been contemplating what to write next. I was praying to God what should I write that will create a great impact on someone? Even if it’s only one person that I can reach, what is that I need to do next?
Little did I know that Enstine Muki’s post of “How Faceless Commentators are Bad for your Blog!” would create more of an impact on me than anybody else!
Though I love Google very much and their logo, I definitely do not like to see the blue “G” on my commentary. And so I deleted all the new ones that have not established relationship with me. If you see a “G” gravatar on my blogs these are my offline friends and family who already established relationship with me and they are not bloggers but used the Yahoo! email thingy. And some I have already established relationship in Google Plus, so they will remain and are okay. But for those of you who are new to whom I do not know, to whom I have not established relationship with, you need to upload your Gravatar. I no longer tolerate this.
To establish your Gravatar click HERE. It’s pretty self-explanatory!
Please tell me if I’m doing it wrong. Those of you friends who have been blogging longer than me can tell me what I’m doing wrong because you know better. You have 2-4 years experience and you have been successful in the blogosphere world. I am all ears.
But right now I am just pouring my raw feelings about these faceless gravatars.
After I shared the “Promote Yourself” post on Bloggers community in Google Plus, I have encountered 3-faceless commentators. And although they have a legit website & they have things to say, I deleted them. All of them I have advised to get a gravatar and one refused. And one said, “I am personally advising you it’s not a good idea to delete comments. Majority of blogger platform user never cared Gravatar.”
Um, huh! Who are you to say that? This is my blog and I’m free to do anyway I please.
I care about the Gravatar. I care about seeing your face in that Gravatar! Perhaps in Bloggers perspective point-of-view, you guys don’t care about Gravatars but not in WordPress world. If you think you are a serious blogger and you think you are going to use your blog for monetary purposes, you bet you do need a gravatar to represent yourself. Because if you’re not, you look very unprofessional and someone that cannot be trusted. How do I know you’re going to stay on the Internet for 5 years! If you don’t care enough about your gravatar to begin with then you are not the person I should stay in contact with and trust my business with. You get the drift?
I’m looking for quality and not quantity. I’d rather have 100 serious bloggers than 1000 who are just drifting along the Internet. Doing this-and-that and know not what to do with themselves. Mind you, there are 1,000,000 bloggers arise each year. Maybe more! But my point is, if you don’t start installing your picture in your gravatar then you are in the wrong start.
If you’re a professional blogger and you don’t have a gravatar, don’t mind leaving me a comment because it will be deleted. I will answer your comment but it will be deleted afterwards. So you might as well just use the contact email above my menu to communicate with me. You don’t take blogging seriously, I am not taking you seriously either. To me, you are just one of these hobbyist that hovers around Internet. You’re here today and gone tomorrow. That’s what you are communicating to me. So don’t waste your energy. No gravatar. No help from me either. Because if you are a serious business men you would have thought about this in the first place!
