I have such a hard time getting this!
I dunno. It’s prolly just me. I have asked some people about this and I even talk to Andy himself. It’s like twice in a row. I almost gave up getting this. But finally, I have tried for the 3rd time and Andy Bailey was patient enough to help me get the plugin for “CommentLuv Link Cleaner.” And so I decided to write this on my blog so others won’t be as confused as I was.
Before you download anything, please watch this before anything else. And it will make more sense.
The “CommentLuv Link Cleaner” plugin is here:
After you click the link, scroll down until you see the big green button below that says Download Now!
After you download it, it’ll look like this on your computer. I’m using a macintosh and so it looks like this. If you are using PC, it might look different on your end. But since I’m a mac user, I’ll show you how it was done on mine. This plugin is only available for “members only” and you can get it for FREE if you “like” Andy’s Facebook. I just love this plugin. So much easier than going to Google Webmaster Tools and try to find your broken link. When it comes to technical, I’m lazy. I want something easier!
So after you downloaded the plugin and you check your download folder, it will show up in .zip (leave it “as is”) and do not open it. Go to your WordPress dashboard > plugins > add new > upload.
And so now after you click Upload click the Choose File button and look for the .zip file in your download folder, then click Install Now and you should be done!
Go to it’s Settings and start checking for broken links. And once you checked the links, it’ll look like this. It’ll say Yes (ok) if it’s okay. If you forget how to do this, there is a video on the right hand side of your dashboard. That video is not showing on my illustration but you’ll see it on your dashboard.
Andy Bailey rocks! He is our super hero.
The upcoming plugin called Anti Backlinker is going to explode. It’s already on beta and should be released by next month or so. Andy loves to make our job easier here online. Not only the broken links on your blog but also he hates spammers!!! And so do I. And so this plugin can do the following:
- Gives whitelist, blacklist, or moderated to your commenters. If you get whitelist it means you are one of the regular commenters. Spammers gets blacklist and you can moderate those who you weren’t sure before approving them to get “luv” links
- It checks those who doesn’t have gravatar and gives them a message like:
“Thanks so much for your comment here. I love meeting new people here and appreciate your comment so very much. There’s just one problem though. Your comment will have the links removed until we get to know you a bit better. One way to do is to get your gravatar set up which is an image associated with your email address. I like to see who I’m conversing with. You can get one here: Get a gravatar for free.”
- There is a setting there that can limit a blogger how many comments he/she can leave. Some people just want to leave you more than 2-3 comments at one time. Some are trying to catch up on your blog if they haven’t come around for a long time. And some just want to spam you. So that’s the purpose. And much, much more!
If you want to know more about this, you can watch Adrienne Smith’s video HERE. She is one of the beta user. I’m sure some of you have seen this. But since this is not about Anti Backlink, I’ll keep this short and talk more about this when it’s actually OUT there.
And so back to “CommentLuv Link Cleaner.”
If you want to check for broken links in your blog, you can get the CommentLuv Link Cleaner plugin. It’s the easier way of doing it without going to Google Webmaster Tools. In fact, I don’t even know how to clean my broken links in GWMT. I’m sure Google will eventually delete and clean your broken links in your blog but I heard it takes time. And so if you want it done faster, just go to GWMT. Or, the easier route is…just get the CommentLuv Link Cleaner and do it on your dashboard.
If you want to get the “Anti Backlink” later, make sure to click the CommentLuv banner above or below this post. Either one will suit just fine. Happy blogging and happy maintaining your blog. At least, Andy Bailey does a great job helping us making our job easier here online. So kudos to Andy!!! And back to you…what do you think about this? Please make sure you leave me your comments.
