If You Are Brand New…

December 18, 2013 by Angela McCall 26 Comments

frosty-promote-sm2

If you are brand new to my blog I encourage you to promote yourself and your business on my page HERE.

Seems like a lot of bloggers who comes to my site for the first time missed this. And so I am here announcing to all of you, please promote yourself and your business.

The Promote Yourself is one of the post that I visit the most whenever I want to check new bloggers. Also if you come to my blog on a regular basis and leave me a link from my CommentLuv Premium window I will make sure to read and comment on your latest post.

How do you qualify to show your link after you comment?

Make sure you have 3 approved posts before your CommentLuv link shows up. But please spare me…If you’re gonna show up just to leave your link and don’t bother adding comment that has value to my post or irrelevant comment to the topic, don’t bother.

Take a look at some of the lame comments I have here…

spammers-die-spammers

The thing about spammer is…

…they never seem to amaze me. Despite of the fact that I have posted the Commenting Rules on my blog, they just totally ignored this. But what do I expect from a bot? They are nothing but a lame script written by lame people. You can tell these are the morons who leaves irrelevant comment to my posts. I am very disgusted about this and so I decided to post and expose this.

I used to get 60-spam a day but ever since I installed Akismet and GASP together, it blocked some of these spammers. But still some gets thru and CommentLuv Premium Anti Backlink plugin helps prevent these morons from posting on my blog. Plus, after I blacklisted them from CommentLuv, I enter their IP addresses in my cPanel on my hosting service HERE. My spam actually went down 99% of the time.

Boost up your traffic 8x more…

Keep in mind that the new algorithm on Google, they are looking more and more on your Google Authorship rather than your Page Rank. Build up your backlinks from other people who has CommentLuv Premium plugin. My friend Silviu actually did a case study on this one — Blog Commenting Results. Case Study 1 — and he found out that his traffic boost up to 8x more!

I am here at your service..

…and so if you are a brand new blogger and you need to establish your traffic a little bit, meet some of the bloggers in your niche, perhaps you can find them here. You can meet people from around the world and make new friends with other business entrepreneurs online.

I know that the best way to interact and engage with other bloggers is to connect with them on their blog. Your network relationship online is something you must pay attention to when it comes to establishing your business and traffic.

Nothing beats word of mouth and it’s been proven in the past. Your backlinks through social media and other bloggers online is one way to diversify your traffic instead of relying on your organic search (which is done through Google search). Even if Google change their algorithm, they can’t take away your business because you have taken the best step to stay away from the Hummingbird strategy.

Anyway, hope you come more often. Happy Blogging! 🙂

    Hi Angela,

First of all, Congratulations on the new look of your blog. It is better than the old one.

Another interesting ideas seems … this post. You explain to people who you are and direct them to the Promote yourself page. It is a gift you offer to people.

Obviously you can offer a lot of things even when you don’t have an ebook available. I must meditate on this idea.

Now, for all the new visitors that will come I want to say just one thing:

This is a great blog where you can learn new and interesting things you won’t find elsewhere.

That’s because Angela is not only a blogger but an artists, too. Each artist is a unique person, cannot be copied and has a high level of creativity.

Connect with Angela, you have a lot of things to gain and nothing to lose.

    Have a wonderful week

      Hey Silviu,

Wow…thank you my dear friend!!! You made my day!!! 🙂

You have wonderful ways with your words, Silviu. Thank you so much. I didn’t even think this is a gift until you said it. My only focus on the internet is to help other people.

This ebook (How to Create a blog) I am producing is still in the making. I’d say most of my energy and time are focus on my website. I am keeping my goal of reading 5-blogs a day and commenting 5x a day. Write more articles. And the leftover time is on this book.

My gratitude to you my friend is beyond words. “Thank You” words are not enough to express how much I appreciate you giving me so much value as an Artist and enthusiastic Blogger. Since I didn’t go through all the way on Journalism, my other plans then in achieving further with my studies, the new Information technology gives me a chance to further my dreams. I someday would want to write that book, “Coming To America.” It’s a seed. But somehow do not know how I will implement such thing…

I can never thank you enough…you have put such wonderful words for me, Silviu. I am indebted to you forever. I can see we are going to be friends for a long time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. xoxo

    Hi Angela

That’s a very generous offer. Thanks 🙂 My blog is about nutritional minerals and how important they are to the body. I provide an objective test that analyses clients’ hair to check for mineral imbalances that can be causing health problems. The test produces graphs and recommendations personalized to your own body’s status. There’s a free ebook on my blog that you can download to learn more.

You’ll laugh at how innocent I was when I first started blogging. Initially I was just relieved when ANYONE found my blog and left a comment. Even though they did seem rather dumb things to say. Then of course I learned more and realized that they weren’t PEOPLE, but bots / morons, and I learned to be more selective and “spam” the comments. And of course I found CommentLuv too, which helped me so much, and through it a community of really helpful bloggers – including you!

Just LOVE your poodle. I grew up with two poodles and they were real personalities. One was a little pick-pocket and could find treats in my Dad’s pockets right at the bottom. I wonder if Sooty ever realized my Dad put them there on purpose?

Also love the new design of your blog and have enjoyed seeing it evolve over time.

    Joy xx

      Hi Joy,

It’s amazing to know that our hair can do MORE than just for looks on top of our head. You can actually test the DNA of your hair too, say you need to test someone’s blood if that kid is yours. Just by that they can tell.

Hahaha…yeah this really makes me laugh. First time I blogged I received like over 2000 comments in one to three days and I thought wow…people are seeing me. Little did I know it was all the crazy bots. *LOL* I thought for awhile I was doing pretty good too and I actaully talked to them too, I answered some of the comments. Didn’t know I was talking to robots. *shakes head* And, thanks to you for assisting me on getting my gravatar in the right place. What would I do without you? I would be totally lost. 🙂

Really? Wow…I didn’t know that. Poodles are the best dogs ever. They think they’re human. They even sleep sometime like humans, on their back!! LOL

Thank you so much, Joy. Wow…it was a long way ya know. First it was that Freelance theme…then Executive…now Agency Pro…like you said I feel like I have evolved. Including my writing. I feel like I keep evolving. This is a phenomenal experience. I just love it. And thank you for being the sweetest and bestest friend ever. I will never forget you…

      Hugs,
      Angela

This is great of you to do hon. As a matter of fact it was a post like this that I submitted my info on that got me off the ground so I encourage everyone to stop by and share their info.

And in the spirit of sharing…I’m a blogger of telecommuting jobs, home-based businesses and whatever else we can do to make money at home legitimately.

I agree with Silviu. You are a beautiful person Angela and I can only imagine how wonderful you are in person. Wishin’ you all the best in 2014! See you in the Socialsphere!

This is very inspirational to hear you say that.

You are doing a great job helping those who wants to “work at home.” Now we can work for someone in a distance. Doesn’t matter if they are in New York and you are in California. The beauty of the new Internet and its Information technology.

Aaawww, you are a sweetheart. Thank you very much hon. I appreciate all your wonderful comment. You are a beautiful person also. It takes one to know one. Wishing you too a beautiful and a brand New Year of 2014. Have a nice weekend and I’ll catch you later…

So, you changed the background image, huh? The first one looked colorful, but this image seems more relevant 😀

As for me, well, what can I say?

I am a blogger who loves experimenting 🙂

(I am going to stop there..want to keep people to curious :p)

Btw, you might want to check this page: http://angelaabrown.com/category/blogging/ < The featured image seems to show up 2 times.

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to promote myself/my brand 😀 Hope you are having a good week 🙂

      Hi Jeevan,

Yes. Not only did I changed the background, I changed the whole child theme. I want to stay away from sliders. And want something that is “more of me.” A blogger who offers her professional design & marketing service.

Please do, Jeevan. Please introduce yourself and your blog. I cannot wait to see your upcoming blog in January. If you make a comment there, I will edit it and enter your blog address later (that’s if you want me to do this).

I know that the image shows up there twice. The first one is you’re suppose to click it and it leads you to the blog itself. The category “blogging” just shows all my 85 blogs there (for everyone who browse) but you cannot comment unless you click the REAL blog per se. So once you click the first photo, it’ll only show ONE photo on the post.

Looking forward to seeing you on the “Promote Yourself” post. I will see you around and please have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for telling me about the double images on the BLOGGING category. I had this problem from the very beginning. I even asked my coder friend if he was seeing double images and he said he was only seeing one. And so I thought I was the only one seeing it.

So I finally asked Studio Press and they were prompt and quick to assist me. Now you can only see one image on the BLOG section. I’m pretty happy about this. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Jeevan, I have CommentLuv Premium. And one of the plugin included there is “Anti Backlink” which controls some of my spam. Bots cannot leave their comments here they are all blocked. However, the spam I’ve been getting I believe comes from real human who leaves spam on my blog and that’s why they could go through but they are all BLACKLISTED on my blog and BANNED from my domain.

          So here’s how it works…

Once a commenter receives 3 approved comments, after I checked them thoroughly whether they are real bloggers or what, then they get “whitelisted.” Any strangers that comes here doesn’t get approved EVEN after 3 comments. Depends. Sometimes I have commenters that just leaves their comment here so they could be on that “Top CommentLuvvers” list? I actually banned those type of people and they never appear on my Top List commenters. hehe…

Anyway, talk more later my friend. 🙂

I purchased the premium version a few months back (Honestly, I still haven’t got the workings of it…got to learn everything, once I launch the blog).

Fortunately, I have comment luv guides written by you, Adrienne and so forth to help me out 😀

            Oh, ok 🙂

Once you start using the CommentLuv Premium, you’ll love it. You have more control of spams and who leaves unwanted comment on your blog. In fact, you can “moderate” those people (even after 3 approved comments) for good if you DON’T trust them.

    Hi Angela,

You came to my blog today, and as soon as I saw your picture I remembered seeing you on Silviu’s blog. So I went to his post and read some of it (your interview) and I was really impressed by you lady! You rock, and I’m so glad we met at me blog which brought me here.

Spam commenters are like the plague or a fungus that you can’t seem to be able to get rid of. I have 3 blogs and every single day I delete 5+ totally bogus spam comments on each on of them. I was told that because I have commentluv premium they can’t possibly be bots though, but they are just as bad and senseless as if they were.

I know that Andy Baily is working at getting rid of those, but I’m not sure it’s quite there yet.

Thank you for this good reminder, and have a great day!

Welcome to my blog! 🙂 Thank you for reading my interview @ Silviu’s. He did a real great job and I’ll keep saying that over & over. He’s just terrific.

You’re right about that. Coz when I review my CommentLuv as far as filtering spams, there’s about 2,000+ but some gets through. And so the ones that gets through…how did that happen? There’s like 20-30 spams each week. I heard that these spammers gets paid millions, that’s why they’re doing it. Imagine that, they make millions…for what? Be a PEST on the internet.

Thank you for commenting on my blog. Have a great weekend.

    Hey Angela,

For some reason I’ve been having an issue getting your blog to come up. I still can’t see the images here but I got several database issue messages before the post finally showed up. So I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that my comment goes through.

I hear you about the spam and although I still don’t get a lot, you know the methods I go through to keep it that way. I’ll never understand how they even think what they do is helpful but it obviously must me or they wouldn’t keep it up.

This is great advice for new bloggers so I’m sure this will be very helpful to those eager to get started. I can’t remember if I’ve been by your promote page yet so I’ll have to check that out as well a little later on.

Great advice once again and Merry Christmas Angela.

      Hi Adrienne,

I believe I think about an hour ago I couldn’t access my blog. Then I was just about to call Hostgator when suddenly my blog showed up again. This is when I was using the tablet. And just now, I went to my front page and tried to access this post from that front page and it says “502 Gateway” error of some sort. I just called Hostgator and they claimed that I should reduce my plugins. Whatever. I used to have 25 plugins before and it never gave me a problem. Now that I reduced it to only 20, I dunno what seems to be the problem now. I’m looking around for a new hosting service. I’m checking GoDaddy now, I might have to switch to them. I need a hosting service that is not connected to EIG. See what happens. Thank you for trying.

I used to get to only 1-5 spam a week. And now it increased again like 30 spams a week. I guess it’s better than getting 500 a day like some other people do.

I just check my Promote Yourself post and you are there. Yes. *big smile* Ya know I am still reading your post about Facebook. I’m reading each single comment there plus I went to Carol’s post and still reading hers too. I’m very interested what other people have to say about Facebook.

Anyway, girlfriend, have a fantastic weekend. And again thank you for trying on my website, I’m sorry for the inconvenience. If this continues, I’m switching over for good.

You have done an amazing job with your site. It is clean, eye catching. I like the mouse over effect. I can remember when you were working on your logo. I plan to keep your name for the future. You are very talented. I am not new to your site

I sell promotional products, which are advertising items that you can put your logo on. I have been in business since 1991. I started blogging this year in April and I am not up to 40 posts. With my posts I try to give ideas of how to market your business and the importance of getting your name and brand shown. Because of my line of business I find your site very interesting.

Have a good holiday and happy new year.

Wow Arleen…you have put a smile on my face. 🙂 Thank you for a beautiful compliment. You are a real sweetheart. I am still working on my logo. I’m not sure if I should keep the “palette” logo or what. I keep elaborating and simplifying it. I didn’t wanna use an “am” logo initial but just a symbol. So when I write my book people can remember that image.

I know you are not new to my site that’s why you are whitelisted. I’m so glad to hear you started blogging because you put an incredible article. I have been meaning to visit you but I keep getting interrupted. You are one of the people in my list who I wanna keep in touch with for the longest time.
