You are unique just like your finger prints. Even siamese twins have unique finger prints. Unrepeatable. Undeniable. There is no one like you. Even when people say sometimes, “Oh, you are just like me!” The truth is, there is no one like you. We may be similar in some ways but there is no exact same one like you.
You can surmount any obstacle even if you just have that little teeny belief about yourself. Do not let anyone intimidate you. You are the interwoven fabric of your own self-fulfilling prophecy. Our mind is very powerful. Remember we only use 10% of our brain. Imagine if we use 100% of it I wonder what kind of tremendous power we can do if we use all of it.
If you want it bad enough you can make things happen. Just believe.
I remember my dad said to me one time, “If I want this bad enough, I will go through the gates of hell. No one can stop me!” And so he told me that he wanted to be number one in that Engineering Board of Exam, he said he studied so hard that he became number one top of the list on the newspaper. Because of poverty, it gave him the desire to excel and became number one!
Sometimes being poor is good because it gives you the ambition to excel, the drive and motivation to go at the top. So the apostle Matthew must know what he was talking about when he said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:2-4
Blessed = Happy
Sometimes, when you have everything, you can take it for granted. You don’t need anything. You lack the desire to be at the top. There is not enough motivation to excel. Why? You can have it in a snap of your finger!
And so when you are struggling, be glad. Be happy that you are because God is teaching you a lesson. He wants you to savor the taste of success. And without going through a hard journey there is no real appreciation of what you might have become.
It is yours. But you’re not ready to gather the harvest. The fruit of thy labor is yours to attain but first thing first, you must develop patience. One said, “Patience is the greatest virtue.” Somehow there is truth and wisdom behind these words.
Your school degree doesn’t guarantee your success!
School is the make-believe world. I am not against it. In fact, I am for it. I encourage my daughters to make sure they have education before they get married. Because you will not survive by love alone. You need the bread and butter when it comes to the nitty gritty things of life. “I don’t care what you major. Major in Home Economics!” I often remind them, “I don’t care. Just go to school and get your college degree!” It’s good to have that good foundation in life.
However, if you stop learning it doesn’t mean it guarantees your success in life!
Failure is not the opposite of Success. It is rather a journey that you have to walk through or pass by that leads you to Success City.
You know my dad came from a very poor family. And because they were poor, that’s what made him wanted to do better in school. He said, “Poverty will not stop me from accomplishing my dream!” And so his reaction to poverty was to get better at what he does and so he kept visualizing himself being out there already successful. He never said “never” but his sentence is always “someday.” Someday I’ll be there! He said to me once, “Your dream of tomorrow can be today!”
So what was his reaction to life difficulties? Sure, he was worried. Sure, he was scared. His cognition of FEAR was real. But his semantic of life was different. In his heart embedded a solid image of success. That no matter what it takes, he will accomplish his journey. Yes, we are all entitled to our God given emotions. It’s real to us. We are simply human.
But to dwell in the past will not help you go forward. Encounter your feelings. You can cry about it and/or write about it. Once you’ve done encountering, you must go forward. Dwelling on your defeat can get you sucked in the abyss.
If you can dream it, you can do it.
There is no excuse for you to say that “you are what you are” because of the bad circumstances that happened to you in your life. Passing the buck is a lame excuse. “The reason why I’m like this is, my father didn’t send me to school.” You can ramble on anything but it will not change your situation. You have the full control. Even God cannot do anything unless you are willing to yield and do what He says. You can only lead the horse to the water but you cannot make him drink. So the only obstacles that is stopping you is yourself. Know yourself. Know who you are.
If you believe you can move mountains.
