I just showed my brother how to use Skype.
Wow…he called me and I was a mess! Apparently, I was still in bed when we were texting back & forth how to download Skype on iPhone. And when he called me, I jump! Checked myself in a mirror. See if I look okay, LOL!!! Dang. I thought being in social media I can always be in my pajama and still work. With the Skype technology, there’s no way the world is going to see me in my pajama!!! So from now on, I have to look decent!!
Anyway, I also showed my sister how to use FaceTime on iPhone. That’s like Skype. Except you have to have wi-fi in order for it to work and so if you don’t have wi-fi, Skype is a great alternative. And so the other day my sister called me via FaceTime. She just upgraded her phone to Siri and so she was testing it how it works. We got to talk a little bit. She was hanging out in Suju’s when she called me. I said, “Well, now you can find a job and there’s no excuse of saying how far you have to commute coz you can now use Skype to connect to your clients or employer.” Then she said, “Yeah. Scary.” She is still uncertain about the idea. Remember, it was only yesterday when we still in old-fashioned way of connecting to people. You talk face-to-face for an interview. Flesh to flesh. Now, we can do the same face-to-face. But this time, you can do that on Skype. Isn’t that amazing? But for some this is scary. We have to break the old habit.
To some people breaking the old habit is not that easy. And although the Internet became my second nature, I’ve been online for too long…I’m still scared dealing with clients online. I haven’t done it yet but I’m going to eventually. I’ve been caught up with so many projects, I really need to set my priorities and work in a consistent manner. Plan my schedule and go from there.
And so if you like to chat sometime, drop me a note. You can always leave a message to me even if I’m offline. You want to discuss business, fine. You want to say hi, fine. Drop me a line.
